Starter Rope
The starter rope is attached to the handle. Stand behind
the unit and pull the starter rope to start the unit.
BladeControl Handle
The blade control handle is located on the upper handle
of the mower. The blade control handle must be
depressed in order to operate the unit. Release the
blade control handle to stop the engine and the blade.
_
ARNING:
The blade control handle is a
safety device. Never attempt to bypass its
operations or alter it in any way.
Lower Bail Handle
The lower bail handle is located on the upper handle
and is used to engage the drive. Squeeze the lower bail
handle against the upper handle to engage the drive;
release it to slow down or stop the mower from
propelling.
Bag-Fill Indicator (if equipped)
Some models are equipped with a bag-fill indicator on
the grass catcher bag to add convenience to your work.
While the mower is running, air will flow through the bag
and into the "sail." If the grass catcher is empty, air
flows through easily pushing the sail up. If the grass
catcher is full, air does not flow through it allowing the
sail to fall. So the position of the sail acts as a bag-fill
indicator signifying when to empty the grass bag.
Cutting HeightAdjustmentLever
These levers are located on each wheel and they are
used to adjust the cutting height. All four levers have to
be at the same relative position to ensure uniform cut.
MulchingPlug
The mulching plug is used only for mulching purposes.
Instead of collecting the grass clippings in a grass
catcher, your mower has the option of recirculating the
clippings back to the lawn. Make sure that the rear
discharge door is closed and the grass catcher is
removed from the unit while mulching.
