DESKTOP INSTALLATION If you don'tchargethe handsetbattery properly (for 12hours) whenyou first set upthe phone, p erformance ofthe battery will be compromised. 1.Remove t hebaseplateonthebottom ofthephone. 2.Plug thetelephone l inecord intoa modular jack. 3.Plug thepowersupply cordintoanAC outlet. 4.Raise thebaseantenna. 5.Turnonthe RINGER switchso the handsetringsfor incoming calls.

HANDSET SOUND SIGNALS Meaning Signal One beep every 7 seconds Batteryis low Three long beeps Page signal. A long warbling tone (with ringer on} Signals an incoming call. Handset and Base are Two short beeps not communicating: the handset might be too far away from the base, you might need to try another channel, or the base might not be receiving power.
