Noise Reduction
Choose Weak, Strong, or MAX to reduce "noise" (random
variations in brightness and color) in photographs taken
at high ISO sensitivities.
The minimum ISO sensitivity at which noise reduction
applies can be selected using Noise Reduction ISO (see
below).
An indicator is displayed when
noise reduction is on.
Note
• When a RAW-quality option is selected for Picture Quality/Size,
noise reduction applies only to the JPEG copy, not to the DNG
file.
• The time needed to record photographs varies with the option
selected for Noise Reduction.
Noise Reduction ISO
Select the minimum ISO sensitivity at which noise reduc-
tion applies when Weak, Strong, or MAX is selected for
Noise Reduction. Choose from All (noise reduction ap-
plies at all ISO sensitivities), Over ISO 201, Over ISO 401,
Over ISO 801, and Over ISO 1601.
