l'urn off, but do not unplug, your Cable Box.
2.
Attach the cable coming out of the wall O
to the "ANT/CABLE
2" jack on the back of
your TV.
3.
Attach an RF cable Obetween
your TV's
"LOOP OUT TO DECODER"
jack, and the
Cable Box's "Input"
or "Cable In" jack.
4.
Attach an RF cable t_ between your Cable
Box's "Output"
or "TV Set" jack, and the
VCR's "VHF In" (From Antenna) jack of
your VCR.
5.
Attach an RF cable O between your VCR's
"VHF Out" (To TV) jack, and the "ANT/
CABLE
1" .jack on the back of your TV.
6.
Take the Remote Emitter
cable O and plug the jack
into the "StarSight
Control
Port" on the back of the
TV. Route one Remote Emitter
wire under the VCR
and place its plastic bulb about two inches in front
of the VCR's front panel !_, as shown in the
illustration.
Make sure that the plastic bulb is
facing the front panel.
Do the same for the
Cable Box _. Do not adhere
the Remote
Emitters
until after
you have completed
activating
StarSight
and you have confirmed
the correct
codes that operate
your equipment.
Once the
codes are confirmed,
peel off the backing of the
sticker on tlhe Emitters
and adhere it in place.
NOTE:
The Remote Emitter is only necessary if you are planning to
activate StarSight and want StarSight to control the record
functions of your VCR and the channel tuning of your cable
bo_.

Locate the area of the TV's jack panel that is
labeled "VidLeo 1 In." Attach the three Audio/Video
(AIV) cables tl) to the "Video," "Audio P" and
"Audio L" jacks and attach the other ends of the
cables to the corresponding
"Video Out," "Audio R
Out" and "Audio L Out" jacks on the back of your
VCR. Connecting
these A/V cables is necessary if ...
Cl You have a VCR without a front panel ch;mnel indica-
tor that uses an on-screen display.
Cl You have a stereo VCR and would like to take: advan-
tage of the',stereo feature.
O You would like to take advantage of the q-V's PIP
feature.
8.
Pl_ag your TV into a power outlet that is not
controlled
by a light switch.
9.
If you want to activate StarSight,
proceed to "Step
1. Fill out the StarSight
Checklist"
in the StarSight
section
of the operating
:guide.
