Focusing
The camcorder can adjust focus automatically under normal conditions.
You might need to focus manually under certain conditions.

Auto Focus
During auto focus, the camcorder
focuses on the object located in the center
area of the viewfinder.
• Auto focus operates
on the telephoto
"T" side from approximately
3.3 feet
to infinity.
• Auto focus operates
on the wide-angle
"W'" side from approximately
3/8
inches from the lens surface to infinity.
• No indicator appears in the viewfinder
during auto focus.
Note: The lens must be clean for the
camcorder to focus accurately.
Manual Focus
You might need to focus manually
under
certain conditions,
such as those listed on
the following
page.

Press and hold the small button on the
CAM/OFF/VCR
switch
while you set
it to CAM.
2. PressFOCUS
•/•
togethertotum
on manual focus.
FOCUS appears in
the viewfinder
during manual focus.
3. Slide the zoom lever to T to zoom in
on the subject and center the subject in
the viewfinder.
4. Adjust the focus for a subject nearer
or farther away.
• Press and hold FOCUS
• to focus
clearly on a near subject.
• Press and hold FOCUS
• to focus
clearly on a subject far away.
5. When you are finished focusing
manually, press FOCUS

together to turn on auto focus.
FOCUS disappears
from the
viewfinder.
