Generator
Haintenance
Generator
maintenance
consists
of keeping the unit dean
and dry. Operate
and store the unit in a dean
dry
environment
where
it wili not be exposed
to excessive
dust, dirt, moisture
or any corrosive
vapors.
Cooling
air
shots in the generator
must not become
cHoKed with snow,
Heaves or any other
foreign
materiai.
NOTE:
DO
NOT
use a garden
hose
to dean
generator.
Water
can enter
engine
fuei system
and
cause
probiems.
In
addition,
if water
enters
generator
through
cooling
air shots,
some
of the
water
wili be retained
in voids
and
cracks
of
the
rotor
and stator
winding
insulation)A/ater
and
dirt
buiidup
on the generator
internai
windings
wili eventualiy
decrease
the
insulation
resistance
of these
windings.

plug wire from the spark plug and place
the wire where
it cannot
contact
spark
plug.

spark plug tester_

check for spark with spark plug removed.

float
charging,

no
maintenance
is required
for the
starting
battery.
Keep
the
battery
and terminais
dean

dry.

Battery
charging
shouid
be performed
in a

as inside
a garage.

air shots and opening

openings
must be kept
dean
and
unobstructed.
