Viewfinder Playback - RCA CC176 Owner's Manual

Viewfinder playback is the simplest way to watch tapes using the camcorder. This
method is generally used only to review scenes immediately after recording because
the display is in black and white.
To play back a tape through the viewfinder
1. Place the CAMERA/PLAY switch in
PLAY.
2. Slide the POWER switch to turn on
the eamcorder. The POWER indicator
will light.
3. Slide the EJECT switch and insert the
cassette you want to play back. Close
the cassette compartment.
4. Press the PLAY button to begin
playback.
• During playback, press and release
the FF/EDIT SEARCH + or REW/
EDIT SEARCH - button if you want
to search the tape visually in forward
or reverse. Press the PLAY button to
return to normal playback.
• For brief searching, press and hold
the FF/EDIT SEARCH + or REW/
EDIT SEARCH - button for more
than two seconds. Release the
button to return to normal playback.
• During playback, press the PA USE
button to "stop the action" and view
one frame of the tape. Press the
PLAY button to return to normal
playback.
Caution: Pause is designed for
momentary interruptions and
should not be used for an
extended period of time. If the
camcorder remains in the pause
mode for more than five minutes,
it will automatically enter the
stop mode and then turn off to
prevent excessive tape wear.
5. Press the STOP button when you are
finished.
Note: If there are streaks in the playback
picture, press either TRACKING button to
move the streaks up or down and out of the
picture. Simultaneously press both
TRACKING buttons to return tracking to its
preset center.
