Deck Wash System
TM
A hexplug can be foundon yourtractor'sdeck surface.
See Figure21.
This plug can be replacedwith a waterport to be used as
partof a separately-available deck washsystem.
Use the DeckWash System
TM
to rinsegrassclippings
from thedeck'sundersideand preventthe buildupof
corrosivechemicals.

Cutting Deck Removal
NOTE:Modelsequippedwith a 38-inchdeck haveone
deck idler pulley.Modelsequippedwith a 42-inchdeck
havetwo deck idler pulleys.
Toremovethe cuttingdeck, proceedas follows:
1. Placethe PTO(BladeEngage)leverin the disen-
gaged (OFF)positionand engagetheparkingbrake.
2. Lowerthe deck by movingthedeck lift leverinto the
bottomnotchon the rightfender.
3. Removethe beltfrom aroundthe tractor'sengine
pulleyand idlerpulley(s).Refer toChangingthe Deck
Belton page 26 for detailedinstructions.
4. Lookingat the cuttingdeck fromthe left sideof the
tractor,locatethe hair pin clip that securesthe deck
supportrod on the rear left sideof thedeck. See
Figure22.
5. Removethe hairpin clipthat securesthedeck
supportrod, and carefullyremovethe deck support
from thedeck lift arm.
6. Repeatthe abovestepson the tractor'srightside.
7. Movethe deck lift leverintothe top notchon the right
fenderto raisethedeck lift arms up and out of the
way.
8. Carefullyremovethe PTOcablefrom the rearof
the cuttingdeck by removing the hair pin clipwhich
securesit. Removethe springfrom the deck idler
bracket.See Figure23.
9. Gentlyslidethe cuttingdeck towardthefront of the
tractorallowingthe hookson the deck to release
themselvesfrom thedeck stabilizerrod.
10.Gentlyslidethe cuttingdeck (from the rightside)out
from underneaththetractor.
