Determi ning your own buttonho le length and
bartack
When you press right (+) program key (22) the
buttonho le symbol appears at the right side of
program 151 and both segment s will flash (Fig 1).
• Before beginnin g the buttonho le pull the run
ner of the buttonho le foot fully to the front.
• Sew the first buttonho le seam at the length
required (Fig. 2a).
• Press "tie-off/b uttonhol e" key 19 (Fig. 2). Now,
only the left upper segment of the buttonho le
symbol is flashing (Fig 3). The machine then
automat ically sews the first bartack and the
return seam (Fig. 2b).
Shortly before the end of the seam the
machine sews slowly stitch by stitch in order to
draw attention to the last bartack. One zigzag
stitch before the end of the first buttonho le
seam.
• Press key 19 again. The second bartack is now
sewn and tied off (Fig. 2c) (Both segment s of
the buttonho le symbol are
off,
Fig. 4).
Now the buttonho le is stored Without having
to actuate further keys, all following button
holes can be sewn automat ically.
With stitch-le ngth keys 7 the buttonho le seams
can be set more densely or loosely.
The stored buttonho le density is 1 mm.
Make a sample buttonho le first.
For every type of fabric, the correspo nding but
tonhole width can be determin ed up to 5.5 mm
For heavy material s select a wide buttonho le am
for light material s a narrow one. With stitch widtt
keys 8. you determin e the required buttonho lE
width. The length of the cut changes automat i
cally (Fig. 6) The stored buttonho le width i
45mm.
With "balance " keys 5 the left buttonho le
can be adapted to the right one.
• Sew the first buttonho le seam at the requirec
length and the first bartack.
• With "balance " keys 5,

second buttonho le seam to the first one
(Fig. 5).
• Press "pattern start" key 26.
