Sabbath Feature - GE JTS10 Owner's Manual

Using the Sabbath feature.
(Designed for use on the Jewish Sabbath and Holidays.) (on some models)

The Sabbath feature can be used for baking/roasting only. It cannot be used for broiling or Delay Start cooking.
NOTE: The oven light comes on automatically
(on some models) when the door is opened and goes off when the door is
closed. The bulb may be removed. See the Oven Light Replacement section. On models with a light switch on the control
panel, the oven light may be turned on and left on.
When the display shows D
the oven is set in Sabbath.
When the display shows D C
the oven is baking/
roasting.
How to Set Sabbath Feature for Regular Baking/Roasting
NOTE: T ounderstandhow the ovencontrolworks,practice
using regularbaking (non-Sabbath)before entering Sabbath
mode.
Makesurethe clockshowsthe correcttime ofday andthe
ovenisoff.

the temperaturein 25 ° increments. T hetemperature
can be setbetween175 ° and 550°.Nosignalor
temperaturewill be given.
Press t he START/ON pad.

indicatingthat the ovenis baking/roasting. I f D C

Toadjustthe oventemperature,pressthe BAKEpadandtap

NOTE:The CLEAR/OFF andCOOKING TIMEpadsareactive
duringthe Sabbathfeature.

How to Set Sabbath Feature for Timed Baking/Roasting--Immediate Start and
Automatic Stop
NOTE: Tounderstand how the ovencontrolworks,practice
usingregular(non-Sabbath)Immediate StartandAutomatic
Stop beforeenteringthe Sabbath mode.
Makesure the clock shows the correct time ofday and the
ovenis off.
Z] Press andholdboththe BAKE andBROIL HI/LOpads, a t
thesametime,untilthe display showsSF.
r2-] Tap the CLOCKpaduntil SAbappearsin the display.
[-_1 Pressthe START/ON padandD Willappearin the
display.
[] Pressthe COOKING TIME pad.

cookingtime betweeni minuteand 9 hoursand59
minutes.Thecookingtime that you enteredwill be
displayed.

How to Exit the Sabbath Feature
[] Pressthe CLEAR/OFF p ad.
r_ if the oveniscooking,waitfor a randomdelay periodof
approximately 30 secondsto ! minute,until only_ is in
the display.
[-_ Pressandhold both the BAKEandBROIL HI/LO pads,
at the sametime,untilthe displayshowsSF.

Tapthe CLOCKpaduntilON or OFFappears in the
display. O Nindicatesthat the ovenwill automatically
turn off after 12hours.OFFindicatesthat the ovenwill
not automaticallyturn off. Seethe Special F eatures
sectionfor an explanation of the 12-HourShutoff
feature.
r_ Press the START/ON pad.
NOTE: I fa power outageoccurredwhilethe ovenwasin
Sabbath, t he ovenwill automatically turn off andstayoff even
when the powerreturns.Theovencontrolmustbe reset.
