12.1nstaIlspeed cIipson top andbottorn inside edge
of window to provide locking. (Seefig. E)
13.Using supplied foam,cut to properlength, insert
between inside windowsash and outsidewindow.(See fig. E)
14.PIace top retaineron top edgeof fiIter panel,then place
the bottom edgeof filler panel into groove ofbottorn retainer
(mounted on unit).Filler panel maybe trimmed withknife or
scissors to fit window height.(See fig.C)
15.Slide sliders upward making sure fillerpanel aligns in
sliders.
16.With sliders upagainst top retainer, drill I/8" hole
through window frame in alignment with existing hole in
slider. Instatt3/8"long self-threading screwin hole.
Repeat for othersIider.
17.Check all seatsand plug all air leaks around unit. Use
supplied sealant to% any minoropenings.

Thisair conditioner i sdesigned to fitinto mostcasement t ype
windows. A sshipped fromfactory,unitwill fitintoa minimum
windowopening 151/2"wideand22"high. T hepreferred
methodofinstallation isthroughaclosedor stationary window.
Installation inanopenwindow frameisalsopossible where
openwindowcanbesecuredtooutsideof buildingorremoved
completely.
1.Closed or stationary window:Installunitinstationary sashto
avoidcrankhandles or window latches. I f unitisto beinstalled
in ornext to amovable sash,it maybe necessary t o remove catch,
handleor both.Remove crankhandle andsecurewindow inclosed
position.Remove glasspanesandseparating stripsto aheight
sufficient t o mountunit.
2.0penwindow frame:Remove crankmechanism andcatchhandles.
Foldwindowsashbackagainstexterior wallof buildingandsecure,
or remove completely w herepossible.
3. Afiller panel w ill berequiredat sideofunit wheninstalledin
windows havingwidthgreaterthan151/2".Fillerpanelshouldbe
madefrom3/4" thickwoodsecurely anchored to onesideof
openingsothat151/2"wideopening is provided. F illerpanel
shouldrunfull lengthofwindow. P ainttosuit.
4. Installunitinsamemanner a sdescribed for slidingwindows.
Installationinwoodsliding orwood casement w indows
1.For woodframecasement w indows, i t is necessary t o construct a
frame,usingatleast1"thickwoodwitha151/2"wideopening.
2.Paintframeandfastenit securely, s ealingit intowindow opening.
3.Installunitintoframefollowing procedures formetalslidingand
casementwindows.
Theseinstallations arealsotypical,andsincestylesandsizesof
casement w indows varywidely,it is advisable to haveunit installed
bysomeone skilledinthistypeof installation. T hedealerselling
theseunitscanrecommend o r supplyqualified peopleto install
yournewunit.
