SERVICE AND ADJUSTMENTS
TO ADJUST SHIFT CONTROL
LEVER
(See FIG. 33)
Adjustment is only required if neutral is not obtained when
shift control lever is in neutral sloL
•
Place shift control lever in NEUTRAL position..
•
Release brake clutch pedal,
•
Try to push tractor,
You should be able to push
when shift control lever is in neutral position.. If you
cannot push tractor, adjust as follows,
•
Disconnect ball joint from shift lever bracket by remov-
ing bail joint nut. Be careful not to move shift lever
bracket,

Loosen jam nut on connecting rod.
Place sh_ftcontrol lever in neutral slot+
Thread ball joint on or off connecting rod until the stud
on the ball joint goes vertically through hole in shift lever
bracket
install batt joint nut and tighten,
Tighten jam nut,
Check the shift control lever adjustment by pushing the
tractor, Place shift control lever in neutral slot+ You
should be able to push tractor, You should not be able to
push the tractor when shift control lever is in reverse or a
forward range position,

TO REMOVE WHEEL FOR REPAIRS
(See FIGS. 34A and 34B)

Block up axle securely-.
•
On front wheels, remove dust cap, retaining ring and
washer(s) to remove wheel.
•
On rear wheels, remove screws to remove wheel.
•
Repair tire and re-assemble.
•
On rear wheels, align holes and reinstallscrews+
•
On front wheels, replace washer(s), and retaining ring.
•
Replace dust caps.
