The throttle control has been preset at the factory and
adjustment should not be necessary. Check adjustment as
described below before loosening cable. If adjustment is
necessary, proceed as follows:
With engine not running, move throttle control lever to
fast (,_)
position.
Check that speed control lever is against stop screw. If
it is not, !oosen casing clamp screw and pull throttle
cable until lever is against screw.. Tighten clamp screw
securely.

The choke control has been preset at the factory and
adjustment should not be necessary, check adjustment as
described below before loosening cable_ tf adjustment is
necessary, proceed as follows:

With engine not running, move choke control (located
on dash panel) to fu!l choke (N) position..

Remove air cleaner cover, filter and cartridge plate to
expose carburetor choke (See "AIR FILTER" in the
Customer Responsibilities
section of this manual).

Choke should be dosed,
if it is not, loosen casing
clamp screw and move choke cable until choke is
completely closed.
Tighten casing clamp screw se-
curely..

Reassemble air cleaner,

TO ADJUST
CARBURETOR
(See
Fig. 35)
The carburetor has been present at the factory and adjust-
ment should not be necessary. However, minor adjustment
may be required to compensate
for differences
in fuel,
temperature, altitude or load If the carburetor does need
adjustment, proceed as follows:
Be sure you have a clean air filter and the throttle
control cabfe is adjusted property (see above)°

Start engine and allow to warm for five minutes. Make
finaf adjustments with engine running and shift/motion
control lever in neutral (tt) position
°
The high idle is set at the factory and cannot be
adjusted.
°
ld{e speed settinq - With throttle control tever in slow
(,_)
position, _ngine should idle at 1200 RPM
If
engine idles too slow or fast, turn idle speed adjusting
screw in or out until correct idle is attained
NOTE: The carburetor on this engine is Iow emission
it is
equipped with an idle fuel needle with a limiter cap and is
not adjustable.
Do not attempt to remove the fimiter cap.
The iimiter cap cannot be removed without breaking the
adjusting needle.
High speed stop is factory adjusted Do not adjust-damage
may result.
IMPORTANT:
NEVER TAMPER
WiTH THE ENGINE

ENGINE SPEED.. OVERSPEEDING THE ENGINE ABOVE
