    BEFORE STARTLING THE ENGINE CHECK ENGINE OIL LEVEL (See Fig. 10) The engine inyourtractor has been shipped, from the factory, already filled with summer weight oil. Check engine oil with tractor on level ground. Unthread and remove oil fill cap!dipstick;wipe oil off° Reinsert the dipstick intothe tube and rest oilfill cap on thetube.

To ensure proper operation and performance, it is recom- mended that the transmission be purged before operating tractor for the first time+ This procedure will remove any trapped air inside the transmission which may have devel- oped during shipping of your tractor.

Do not attempt to clean fan or transmission while engine is running or while the transmission is hot. possible damage to seals, no not use high pressure water or steam to clean transaxle.
  • Page 20 CUSTOMER ,=,,i,l,= i LHlU,U,t CLEAN AIR INTAKE/COOLING To insure proper cooling, make sure the grass screen, cooling fins, and other external surfaces of the engine are kept clean at all times. Every 100 hours of operation (more often under extremely dusty, dirty conditions), remove the blower housing and other cooling shrouds.
