Note:
Resolution in professional
printing is measured in
lines per inch (lpi) rather
than dots per inch (dpi).
Your EPSON scanner software provides several
descreening filters that undo the effects of the
screening process.
From the Descreen drop-down list, choose the
descreening filter that best matches the type of image
being scanned:
None
Art Print
Magazine
Newspaper
Does not apply a descreening filter to
the image.
Smooths the fine dot pattern found in
high quality art prints (175 lpi).
Smooths the fine dot pattern found in
glossy magazines (133 lpi).
Smooths the coarse grain pattern
commonly found in newspaper
images (85 lpi).
