Sawing l aminates
Asthesaw blade cuts onthe upward s troke, splintering may occur onthesurface closest
totheshoe plate.
-Use afine-tooth sawblade.
-Saw from the back surface o ftheworkpiece.
-Tominimize splintering,
clamp a piece o fscrap wood orhardboard toboth sides o fthe
workpiece and saw through t his sandwich.
Sawing wood
- Support the workpiece adequately at all times.
- Use higher speed for cutting wood.
- Do not attempt to turn the toot on when blade is against material to be cut. This could stall
the motor. Place the front of shoe on the material to be cut and hold the saw shoe firmly
against the wood while cutting.
- Don't force the toot; let the blade cut at its own speed.
- When the cut is complete, turn the saw off. Let blade come to a complete stop and then
lay the saw aside before loosening the work.
Sawing metal
- Be aware that sawing metal takes much more time than sawing wood.
- Use a saw blade suitable for sawing metal.
- When cutting thin metal, clamp a piece of scrap wood to the back surface of the
workpiece and cut through this sandwich.
- Spread a film of oil along the intended line of cut for easier operation and longer blade
life. For cutting aluminum, kerosene is preferred.
Use only mild soap and damp cloth to clean the tool. Never let any liquid get inside the
toot; never immerse any part of the tool into a liquid.
