Switch 5: Paper Out Detector
Specifies whether the printer's paper out detector is enabled (ON) or disabled (OFF).
When the paper out detector is enabled (ON), the printer automatically stops
printing whenever it senses there is no more paper. When it is disabled (OFF), the
printer continues printing as long as there is data. Selecting disabled (OFF) makes it
possible to print right up to the bottom of a page, but it also creates the danger of
printing when there is no paper loaded in the printer, which can damage the print
head and platen.

Switch 1: Graphics Direction
Selects uni-directional (OFF) or bi-directional (ON) printing for graphics. Bi-
directional printing (ON) is faster, while uni-directional (OFF) printing generally
provides better print quality in the graphics mode.
Switch 2: Auto Tear-off
Specifies whether the printer's auto tear-off feature (page 27) is enabled (OFF) or
disabled (ON). Note that this setting controls the application software's tear-off
function only. It does not affect the manual tear-off function that is performed using
the control panel buttons as described on page19. The manual tear-off function is
always enabled.
Switch 3: Line Spacing
Selects 1/6-inch (ON) or 1/8-inch (OFF) spacing between lines.
Switch 4: Auto LF with CR
Specifies whether auto LF with CR is enabled (OFF) or disabled (ON). When auto
LF with CR is enabled (OFF), the printer automatically performs a line feed
whenever it receives a carriage return from the computer. When it is disabled (ON),
the computer must send both a line feed code and a carriage return code at the end of
each line. Most applications do this automatically. Note the following checkpoints
when trying to figure out which setting to use here:
If you find that your output is double-spaced when it should not be, turn this
switch ON (Disabled).
If you find that lines are printing over each other, turn this switch OFF
(Enabled).
Switch 5: Zero Style
Specifies whether a normal zero (ON) or a slashed zero (OFF) will be used.
Selecting Normal (ON) prints zeros without lines running through them, while
Slashed (OFF) prints zeros with a diagonal slash running through them.

Commutateur 5: Détecteur de fin de papier
Il sert à activer (ON) ou désactiver (OFF) le détecteur de fin de papier. Quand le
détecteur de fin de papier est activé (ON), l'imprimante arrête automatiquement
l'impression dès qu'elle détecte la fin du papier. Quand il est désactivé (OFF),
l'imprimante continue d'imprimer tant qu'il reste des données. Le détecteur
désactivé (OFF) permet d'imprimer jusqu'en bas de la page, cependant la tête
d'impression et le cylindre risquent d'être endommagés si l'imprimante continue
d'imprimer quand il n'y a plus de papier.

Commutateur 1: Mode d'impression des graphiques
Il permet de sélectionner le mode d'impression, unidirectionnel (OFF) ou
bidirectionnel (ON), pour l'impression des graphiques. En mode bidirectionnel
(ON), l'impression est plus rapide, tandis qu'en mode unidirectionnel (OFF),
l'impression est généralement de meilleure qualité.
Commutateur 2: Découpe automatique
Il sert à activer (OFF) ou à désactiver (ON) la fonction de découpe automatique
(page 27) de l'imprimante. Notez que ce réglage contrôle la fonction de découpe du
programme d'application uniquement. Il n'affecte pas la fonction de découpe
manuelle effectuée à l'aide des touches du panneau de commande et décrite page 19.
La fonction de découpe manuelle est toujours disponible.
Commutateur 3: Espace interligne
Il sert à sélectionner un espace de 1/6 pouce (ON) ou 1/8 pouce (OFF) entre les
lignes.
Commutateur 4: Saut de ligne automatique avec retour de chariot
Il sert à activer (OFF) ou désactiver (ON) la fonction de saut de ligne automatique
avec retour de chariot. Quand la fonction est activée (OFF), l'imprimante saute
automatiquement une ligne quand elle reçoit un code retour chariot de l'ordinateur.
Quand la fonction est désactivée (ON), l'ordinateur doit envoyer un code saut de
ligne et un code retour chariot à la fin de chaque ligne. La plupart des programmes
d'application envoient ces codes automatiquement. Vérifiez les points suivants pour
savoir quel réglage choisir:
Si vous obtenez un double interligne à la place d'un simple interligne, désactivez
la fonction (ON).
Si les lignes sont superposées, activez la fonction (OFF).
Commutateur 5: Format du zéro
Il sert à sélectionner le zéro normal (ON) ou le zéro barré (OFF). Si le zéro normal
(ON) est sélectionné, les zéros sont imprimés sans barres tranversales et si le zéro
barré (OFF) est sélectionné, les zéros imprimés sont traversés d'une barre.
