sioncontrol s ystemincludes partssuchasthe carburetor, air cleaner, ignition
system, m ufflerandcatalytic converter. Alsoincluded maybe connectors and
otheremission related a ssemblies.Where awarrantable c ondition exists, Sears
will r epair yoursmalloff-roadengine at nocostto youincluding diagnosis, parts
andlabor.
Sears Emission Control Defects Warranty Coverage

Asthesma!loff-road engineowner,youareresponsible f orthe performance o f
therequiredmaintenance l istedinyourOperating andMaintenance Instruc-
tions.Searsrecommends thatyou retainallyourreceipts covering maintenance
onyoursmalloff-roadengine,butSearscannot denywarranty solelyfor the
lackof receipts or foryourfailure to ensuretheperformance o f all scheduled
maintenance. As the smalloff-road engineowner, y oushouldhowever b e
aware thatSearsmaydenyyouwarranty coverage if yoursmalloff-roadengine
or a parthasfaileddueto abuse, n eglect, i mproper m aintenance o r unap-
partonyourengineisdefective, thepartwillbe repaired o r replaced bySears,

2. LengthofCoverage
Searswarrants tothe initialownerandeachsubsequent purchaserthat
the Warranted Partsshallbe freefromdefects in materials andworkman-
shipwhichcausedthefailureof the Warranted Partsfora period ofone
yearfromthe datetheengineisdelivered toa retail p urchaser.
3. NoCharge
Repairor replacement ofanyWarranted Partwillbe performed at no
charge to the owner,including diagnostic laborwhich leadsto the
determination thata Warranted Partisdefective, i f the diagnostic workis
performed a t an Authorized SearsServiceDealer. F oremissions warranty
servicecontact y ournearest A uthorized SearsServiceDealeraslistedin
the "YellowPages" u nder"Engines, G asoline," " GasolineEngines," "Lawn
Mowers," o rsimilarcategory.
4. ClaimsandCoverage Exclusions
Warranty claimsshallbefiledinaccordance withthe provisions of the
SearsEngine WarrantyPolicy. W arranty coverage shallbe excluded for
failures of Warranted Partswhich arenotoriginalSearspartsor because
of abuse,neglect o r impropermaintenance a ssetforth intheSears
Engine WarrantyPolicy. S earsis not liableto coverfailures of Warranted
Partscausedbythe useofadd-on,non-original, or modified parts.
5. Maintenance
AnyWarranted Partwhichis notscheduled forreplacement a srequired
maintenance o r whichis scheduled only for regular i nspection to theeffect
of "repairor replaceasnecessary" shallbe warranted astodefects forthe
warranty period. AnyWarranted Partwhich is scheduled forreplacement
asrequired maintenance s hahbewarranted as todefectsonlyforthe
periodoftimeup tothe firstscheduled replacement forthatpart.Any
replacement partthatis equivalent inperformance anddurability may
be usedinthe performance o fany maintenance o r repairs. T heowneris
responsible forthe performance o f all requiredmaintenance, asdefinedin
theSearsOperating andMaintenance I nstructions.
6. Consequential Coverage
Coverage hereunder s hallextend to the failureof anyenginecomponents
caused bythe failureofanyWarranted Partstill underwarranty.
