GUIDE BAR AND CHAIN OIL
The chainoiler providescontinuous lu-
brication to thechain and guidebar.Be
suretotillthe bar oiltank whenyou fill
thefuel tank (Capaoity= 6.8 ft.oz.)
Formaximum guide bar and chainlife,
we recommend you use Craftsman
chainsaw ba.roil. If Cr"_tsma.nbar oil is
not available,you may u.sea good
gradeSAE 30 oiluntilybu are able to
obtainCraftsmanbrand,The oiloutput
is automatically metered dudngopera-
lion.Yoursaw wiltuse approximately
one tankof bar oil for everytankof fuel
mix. Alwaysfillthe bar oiltank when
youfillthe fuel tank.
FUELING ENGINE
Thisengineis oertified to operateOn
unleadedgasoline.Beforeoperation,
gasolinemustbe mixedwitha good
quality2-cycle=dr-cooledengineoil We
recommend Craftsmanbrandoil.Mix
gasoUne and oil at a ratioof 40:1 (A
40:1 ratioIsobtainedbymixing3,2
ouncesof o_with I gallonof unleaded
gasoline). D ONOT USEautomotive oil
or boat oil.These oilswillcause engine
damage.When mixingfuel followthe
instruot o ne printedon the container.
Onceoilis addedto the gasoline,
shakecontainer momentarilyto assure
thatthe fuel is thoroughly mixed.
Alwaysread and followthe safetyrules
relatingto fuel beforefueling your unit.
IMPORTANT
Experience indicatesthat alcoho_
blendedfuels (calledgaseholor using
ethanol ormethanol)canattract
rnols-
turswhichleads to separationand
formation of a_ds duringstorage.Acid-
ic gascan damage the fuel systemof
an enginewhilein storage.
To avoidengine problems,the fuel sys-
ternshouldbe emptiedbeforestorage
for 30 daysor longer.Drain the gas
tank, startthe engine and let it rununtil
the fuel lines and carburetorare empty.
Use freshfuel next season.See STOR-
AGEinstructions f or additional informa-
tion.
Never useengineor carburetor cleaner
products in the fuel tankor permanent
damagemay occur.
