wise4-1/2tums.
Start motor,letit runfor3 minutes,and
proceedto the adjustment s ection.If
enginedoes notstart,refer totrouble-
shooting chartor call 1-800-235-5878.
If engineperformance isacceptable at
thepresetpositions and there is no
chainmovement at idle, no furtherad-
justmentis necessary.
ADJUSTING PROCEDURE
Idle Speed "T"
Allow engineto idle.Adjustspeed unt_
engineruns without chainmovementor
stalling.
• Turn clockwise to increaseengine
speed if enginestallsor dies.
• Turn counterclockwise to decrease
speed.
No furtheradjustments are necessaryif
chaindoes notmoveat idlespeed and
if performance issatisfactory.
Low Speed Mixture%"
Allowengineto idle.Th_n accelerate
the engineand noteperformance. I f en-
ginehesitates,bogsdown,or smokes
dudngacceleration,fum mixture screw
clockwise in 1/16-fum increments until
performance is satisfactory. Repeat this
procedure as necessary for properad-
justment. A fter completing adjustments,
checkfor acceleration and chainmove-
mentat idle.Resetif necessary.
High Speed Mixture "H"
DO NOT operateengineat fullthrottle
for prolonged pedodswhilemakingad-
justments,uamage tothe enginecan
occur.Make a testcut. Basedon per-
formanceof the saw whilecutting,ad-
justthe highspeed mixture settingin
1t16-tum increments as follows:
• Clockwise untilthesaw hasgood
powerin thecutwithno hesitation.
Do notadjust by soundor speed,but
judge byhowwell thesaw performs in
the cut.
• Countemlockwise i fthe saw has
speed, butdies in theout or lacks

Acceleration Check

mance.
Prepareyourunitfor storeg_at the end
of the seasonor ifit willnot be used for
30 daysor more.

• Allowthe engineto cool, and secure
the Unitbeforestoringor transporting.
• Store chainsaw and fuel in a well
ventilated area where fuel vapors
cannotreachsparksor openflames
from waterheaters,electricmotors or
switches,furnaces, etc.
• Storechainsaw with all guardsin
ptaceand position chainsaw so that
any sharpobjectcannotaccidentally
• cause injury.
Storechainsaw well outof the reach
ofchildren.
