TROUBLESHOOTING/CORRECTIVE ACTION GUIDE:
PROBLEM
-Motorwill not start
-Motor keeps slowing down
CORRECTIVE ACTION
- Checkfuse or circuit breaker to ensurepower is to
outlet
- Checkextensioncord with another
electricaldevice to ensurecord is good.
- Call customerservice representative

- The undersideof the mower may be plugged with
clippings, UNPLUGmowerand clean out.
- Grass may be too tall, try pushing at a slower pace, or
raise cut height.
- Checkblade sharpnessand balance, and correct if
required.
- If mulching, it may be too much grass, UNPLUGmower
and attach dischargechute to dispersegrass
-Runsbut poor cut results
-Excess vibration
-Mower is hard to push
-Mower leaves clumps of grass
-Discharge/Bag plugging
- The blade may be dull, unplug mower and carefully
check for sharpness.
- Blade may be damaged (bentor badly chipped),
UNPLUGmower and replace if necessary.
- Grass may be too high or thick for cutting height,
UNPLUGmower and raise cuttingheight.
- Blade may be loose, UNPLUGmower and check blade
for tightness.
- Blade may be bent or badly chipped, UNPLUGmower
and replace if necessary.
- Blade may be unbalanced. Referto blade balancing
sectionof instructionmanual.
- Mower is too closeto the ground with the amountof
grass being cut, UNPLUGmower and raise cutting
height.
- UNPLUGmower and check wheelsand axlesto
ensureall are rotating easily.
- Toomuch grass, UNPLUGmower and raise cutting
height.
- If mulching, it may be too much grass, UNPLUGmower
and attach dischargechute to dispersegrass
- UNPLUGmower and carefully check blade for
sharpness.
- Grass may be too wet to cut. Wait for grassto dry.
- Grass may be too wet, try again when grass is dry.
- Too muchgrass, UNPLUGmower and raise cutting
height.

WARRANTIES
Full Two-Year Home Use Warranty
Black & Decker (U.S.) Inc. warrants this product for two years against any defects in
material or workmanship. The defective product will be replaced or repaired at no
charge in either of two ways:
The first, which will result in exchanges only, is to return the product to the retailer from
whom it was purchased (provided that the store is a participating retailer). Returns
should be made within the timeperiod of the retailer's policy for exchanges (usually 30
to 90 clays after the sale). Proof of purchase may be required. Pleasecheck with the
retailer for their specific return policy regarding returns that are beyond the time setfor
exchanges.
The second option is to take or send the product (prepaid) to a Black & Decker owned
or authorized Service Center for repair or replacement at our option. Proof of
_surchasemay be required. Black & Decker owned and authorized service centers are
ted under "Tools-Electric" in the yellow pages of file phone directory.
This warranty does not apply to accessories. This warranty gives you specific legal
rights and you may have other rights which vary from state to state. Should you have
