4-1 Using Fiery Downloader or WebDownloader

Downloading
Files and Fonts
Fiery Downloader and WebDownloader allow you to send PostScript (PS),
Encapsulated PostScript (EPS), Tagged Image File Format (TIFF), and Portable
Document Format (PDF) files directly to the Fiery X3e without using the application
in which the files were created. These utilities also allows you to manage printer fonts
on the Fiery X3e.
You can use Fiery Downloader or WebDownloader from a remote workstation.
Fiery Downloader and Fiery WebDownloader require a network connection. For
information on installing and configuring Fiery Downloader and WebDownloader on
supported networking protocols, see the

or dialog boxes are illustrated, the Windows version comes first, followed by the Mac

You can also download files and fonts by using the Import feature in Command
WorkStation. For more information, see the

You can use Fiery Downloader to do the following:
• Check the status of the Fiery X3e.
This function is not available using WebDownloader, but is available through

• Print PostScript, EPS, TIFF, and PDF files to the Fiery X3e.
• Manage the printer fonts stored on the Fiery X3e hard disk drive (this feature
requires that the Direct connection be published on the Fiery X3e).
