5.2.7 Printer mechanism replacement

Stylus COLOR 480 dose not have ASP printer mechanism. So, you may not have a
chance to use this function in your service activity. However, in case you change the
printer mechanism in your printer swap service, use this function.
The adjustment item and the order are same as "Printhead replacement". So, as for the
detail, refer to Section 5.2.3 on page 108.
NOTE: Use the function for the following case.
* Printer mechanism (except the waste drain ink pad and circuit board,
printhead) is changed with other one

Click the "Printer mechanism replacement" in the Sequential repair service program.
Following menu is displayed.

Follow the adjustment item displayed on the above menu.
For the detail, refer to Section 5.2.3 on page 108 due to the adjustment item and order
are same as "Printhead replacement".

5.2.8 Waste ink pad replacement

When the Waste drain ink pad is replaced with new one due to the maintenance error,
you have to replace the Waste drain ink pad with new one and reset the counter.
1.
Connect the printer to your PC and run the Adjustment program. If the waste drain ink
pad counter reaches to the limit counter, the status monitor of this program displays the
"Maintenance error" automatically.
2.
Turn off the printer and replace the Waste drain ink pad with new one. Click the
"Clear" button to clear the waste drain ink pad counter stored in the EEPROM on the
Main board after turn on the printer.
If the status monitor dose not detect the Waste drain ink pad counter correctly, click the
"Waste ink pad replacement" in the sequential repair service program and use the
following function. Clicking the "Protection counter clear" button clears the counter in
the EEPROM. The suitable waste drain ink pad life is set in the EEPROM
automatically according to the market setting of the initial setting menu.
