    Adjust the monitor so the top of the screen is at, or slightly below, eye level. Place the monitor at a comfortable viewing distance, usually 51 to 61 cm (20 to 24 inches), and position it so you can view it without having to twist your body.

    Locking the computer cover Locking the computer cover helps prevent unauthorized people from gaining access to the inside of your computer. Your computer comes with a padlock loop so that the computer cover cannot be removed when a padlock is installed. Figure 7.

  • Page 41 5. Remove any parts that might prevent your access to the memory slots. Depending on your computer model, you might need to remove the PCI Express x16 graphics card for easier access to the memory slots. See “Installing or replacing a PCI card” on page 27. 6.

    7. Position the new memory module over the memory slot. Make sure that the notch on the memory module aligns correctly with the slot key on the system board. Push the memory module straight down into the slot until the retaining clips close. Figure 17.

This section provides instructions on how to replace the primary hard disk drive. To replace the primary hard disk drive, do the following: 1.
  • Page 51 9. To install a new hard disk drive into the blue bracket, flex the bracket and align pin , pin , pin and pin on the bracket with the corresponding holes in the hard disk drive. Do not touch the circuit board on the bottom of the hard disk drive.

    13. Press down on the metal latch and pivot the drive cage into place, and then slide it to the front of the computer until it snaps into position. Note: There are two arrows, one on the upper drive cage and one on the hard disk drive cage. The arrows are aligned when the hard disk drive is in the proper position.
