reduce unwanted false alarms. Full sensitivity is maintained on all other bands. This mode is
recommended for most driving.
Auto No X sensitivity—Provides the same detection sensitivity as Auto mode, but with the X‐
band turned off.
OFF—This setting is particularly useful when you are driving in a state in which radar detectors
are illegal.
To set the sensitivity, touch Sensitivity on the Detector Settings screen. Touch the mode to select it,
then touch any button at the bottom of the screen to exit and save your changes.
Activating/deactivating the AutoLearn feature
The AutoLearn feature analyzes (over time) the source of radar signals by location and frequency. This
allows PASSPORT iQ to determine if a signal is a real threat or a false one. If it determines that the signal
is an automatic door opener, motion sensor, etc., it automatically locks out this source at this particular
location. A "stored" message, accompanied by a single beep, will appear on the display when a signal
has been automatically locked out.
To turn AutoLearn on or off, touch AutoLearn on the Detector Settings screen. Touch the mode to select
it, then touch any button at the bottom of the screen to exit and save your changes.
Note: AutoLearn typically needs to encounter the exact frequency in the same location
approximately three times to lock it out. Since some door openers are turned on and off
routinely, some variations may occur. When AutoLearn is on, PASSPORT iQ will also un‐learn
signals to protect you from locking out real threats. If a particular signal is no longer present at a
location that was previously locked out, PASSPORT iQ will unlock that signal.
Selecting the signal‐strength display mode
PASSPORT iQ has two settings for displaying radar signal strength:
Standard Bar Graph—Provides information on a single radar signal. If there are multiple signals
present, PASSPORT iQ will determine which one is the most important threat to display. In this
mode, when radar is detected, PASSPORT iQ displays the band (X, K, Ka, or Ku), and a precise bar
graph of the signal strength. When PASSPORT iQ detects a laser signal, the display will read
"Laser." This is the default option for PASSPORT iQ. Note: The radar/laser alert bar graph
appears in red. If the signal has been locked out as false, it will appear in gray.
