Adjusting detector sensitivity
PASSPORT iQ has three detection sensitivity modes, as well as an option to turn radar/laser detection
off. You can easily select any of these options by touching the On‐Screen Radar/Laser Alert Area when
you are not receiving an alert.
The area will display one of the following, and PASSPORT iQ will provide a voice confirmation of your
selection:
H (Highway sensitivity)—Provides maximum sensitivity on all bands.
A (Auto sensitivity)—Provides real‐time radar performance based on your vehicle speed. As your
vehicle speed increases, the radar sensitivity (X‐ and K‐band) is set to maximum range. As the
vehicle speed decreases, the radar sensitivity (X‐ and K‐band only) is minimized to further
reduce unwanted false alarms. Full sensitivity is maintained on all other bands. This mode is
recommended for most driving.
ANX (Auto No X sensitivity)—Provides the same detection sensitivity as Auto mode, but with the
X‐band turned off.
OFF (Radar/laser detection off)—This setting is particularly useful when you are driving in a
state in which radar detectors are illegal.
Viewing your actual speed
In the Map View, your actual speed is displayed in the On‐Screen Radar/Laser Alert Area, to the right of
the detection sensitivity icon.
Muting alerts
You can easily mute a radar/laser alert that is in progress by touching the On‐Screen Radar/Laser Alert
Area during the alert. You can also silence an alert by pressing the SmartCord mute button.
