Messaging

With messaging, you can send and receive instant
messages between your device and another
messaging-ready device.
There are two types of messaging, Text Messaging
(SMS) and Multimedia Messaging (MMS).
Multimedia messages consist of both text and multimedia
files, such as pictures, videos, or voice recordings.
New Messages Notification
Depending on your notification settings, the device will
play a ringtone, vibrate, or display the message briefly
on the status bar when you receive a new text or
multimedia message. To change the notification for
new text and multimedia messages, see "Messaging
Settings" on page 114 for details.
To open the message:
1.
Drag the status bar down to open the Notifications
panel.

Tap the new message to open and read it.

Composing Messages

Press

Enter the phone number or email address of the
recipient in the
To
field using the onscreen
keyboard. As you type, entries with matching
information in your Contacts will appear in a list.
Tap an entry to select it.

Enter a message in the text field.
