AES
The AES outputs AES1 and AES2 can operate similarly, useful for 16-bit machines. This is done by first enabling
ABS for MDMs, then press & hold until the ABS LED blinks, showing that ABS AES is enabled. Another press
& hold turns ABS AES off.

S/PDIF
ABS output processing is not supported for S/PDIF regardless of whether or not the ABS LED is lit.
ABS (Apogee Bit Splitting) – Inputs
For 88.2/96 kHz operation, the inputs are in a sense bit-split but there is only one input format – see
88.2/96 kHz operation.
MDM
At 44.1/48 kHz sample rates, the PSX-100 can 'bit split' the MDM (ADAT and TDIF) inputs. This feature is
enabled by press & hold of the MDM IN button, and controls TDIF and ADAT outputs simultaneously. Press and
hold will light both 1-2 and 3-4 LEDs at the same time. This means these four channels inputs will be combined
per the MDM ABS format shown in ABS PROCESSING – OUTPUTS. You can then hit MDM IN once to select
channels 5-8 as the inputs. Press & hold returns to NON-ABS channels 1-2.
NOTE: In Confidence Monitor mode and 44.1/48 kHz sampling, turning on ABS will automatically set the MDM
IN configuration to two pairs (1 and 2). When you exit from ABS, MDM IN will select one pair (channels 1 and
2). You can always override these settings.
AES
The AES inputs AES1 and AES2 can operate similarly, useful for 16-bit machines. This is done by setting
DIP8, which manually forces the AES format described in ABS PROCESSING – OUTPUTS.
S/PDIF
ABS processing is not supported for S/PDIF.
