This error indicates that the document feeder is raised.

Lower the document feeder
cover, making sure it goes all the
way down.

Paper Jam

This error indicates that an original is jammed in the document feeder.

Open the document feeder cover.
If you cannot see the original,
skip to step 4.

Carefully remove the jammed
original.
