In the Split Volume Pair dialog box, proceed as follows:
Ensure that the pair you want to split is selected.
Select the Simplex volume to be the S-VOL in a pair create and split operation.

From Copy Pace, select the pace at which the pair(s) are to be split, Slower, Medium, or Faster.
Copy Pace affects the host I/O performance: a slower pace minimizes impact, a faster pace
has the greatest impact. The pace you select is used for all pairs in the operation.
NOTE:
you specify a different copy pace for new pairs in the Split Volume Pair dialog box, the copy
pace for the existing Split Volume Pair operation settings displayed in the Preview List also
will be changed. The latest copy pace specified in the Split Volume Pair dialog box is always
reflected to the storage system.
8.
From Select Split Type, select one of the following:
Steady Split: Any remaining differential data between S-VOL and T-VOL is copied to the
T-VOL before the split. Read and write access to the T-VOL is available only when the
operation completes.
Quick Split: Read and write access to the T-VOL is available immediately. Any remaining
differential data between S-VOL and T-VOL is copied to the T-VOL in the background.
NOTE:
is applied to all pairs.
9.
If you are splitting an existing pair or pairs, click OK and go to the last two steps in this
procedure.
10. Display the volumes available for T-VOLs by selecting the following filters from the Select T-VOL
box:
Select an LDKC (if selectable).
Select the appropriate CU image.
