    If you received your Sprint PCS Phone in the mail or purchased it at a Sprint PCS Center, your phone may already be activated. If so, it simply needs to be unlocked before you begin using it (see “How to unlock your phone” on page 3). This guide will introduce you to our technology and your new Sprint PCS Phone through easy-to-follow instructions.

  • Page 15 1. LED Indicator: Flashes to indicate an incoming call or message. When you have the phone closed and the ringer set to off, the LED indicator will notify you that you have an incoming call or message. Lights up (flashes) for a few seconds when you turn on the phone.

Leaving the battery in the charger once it is fully charged does not harm the battery. The LEDs on the front of the charger indicate the following: Red indicates that the battery is charging.

Although certain voice-calling features may not be available, your phone calls are still private and secure. If you’re on your phone and leave a Sprint PCS Service Area, your call will be dropped.

    To temporarily unblock the number: Press Enter the phone number and then press Call Waiting lets you receive a second call during conversation. When a Call Waiting call comes in, the incoming call alert sounds (this sound is audible to you but not your first caller), and a text notification displays.

    Three-Way Calling lets you talk with two different people at the same time. When you use this feature, you will be charged normal airtime rates for each of the two calls you make. The phone records each called party in the Outgoing Calls Log.

    With Call Forwarding, you can have all of your incoming calls forwarded to another phone number — even if your phone is turned off. When Call Forwarding is used, you can still make calls from your phone. To use Call Forwarding: 1.

    Your phone keeps a list of calls that you do not answer when the phone is on and service is available. The phone indicates a missed call by displaying a message on the screen. Additionally, if caller information is available, a Missed Call Log entry is created, and the screen displays the phone number of the most recent missed call.

    Dial to obtain assistance in placing collect calls or calls billed to a local telephone calling card or a third party. A failed call can occur if your Sprint PCS Phone is out of calling range or the network is temporarily busy. Your phone responds to a failed call by displaying an appropriate text message: “Call Not Completed Out of Range”.

    The tone length setting enables you to select short or long DTMF (dual-tone multi-frequency) tones. DTMF tones are sent by your phone to access teleservices (such as a bank account or voicemail system). The system used by the bank or other service determines if you need short or long DTMF. If the service is digital, short DTMF tones will almost always work.

There are two kinds of pauses that can be entered on your Sprint PCS Phone: Hard pause - A hard pause stops the dialing sequence...
