Pre-installed wiring harness for telephone installation

A wiring harness for connecting a mobile phone
is available for the Passat 2001. The mobile
phone rest is attached to the dash panel. The
mobile phone is connected to an interface box
fitted below the armrest.
The interface box is the interface between the
mobile phone, the vehicle electrical system and
the antenna.
When the mobile phone is placed in the rest,
the driver can make a telephone call using the
hands-free facility. The radio enters automute
mode while a phone call is being conducted.
The telephone number can be dialled on the
mobile phone. Voice dialling is also possible if
the mobile phone provides this facility.
The mobile phone rest is available in two
versions.
