Tension control
Sewing is possible at position "4" for most circum-
stances. If improper stitching occurs, adjust the
tension according to the drawing below.
(Standard: SPAN 60/3Z)
A for heavy tension
(set from 4 to 7)
B for light tension
(set from 4 to 2)
C for medium tension
(set from 5 to 3)

There is a thread tension adjustment dial for each
needle thread, the lowerlooper thread and the
upperlooper thread. The correct thread tension
may vary according to the type and thickness of
the fabric and the type of thread used. Thread
tension adjustments may be necessary for any
change in sewing materials.
If the stitch quality is insufficient, select a different
tension setting from the illustration on the previ-
ous or following pages.
Adjusting the thread tension
(1) To select the correct tension, refer to the illustra-
tion on the previous page.
(2) If you cannot find the correct tension, refer to the
illustrations "In this case" on following pages.

Existe un disco de ajuste de tensión para el hilo
de cada aguja, el hilo del áncora superior y él del
áncora inferior. La tensión de hilo correcta puede
variar dependiendo del tipo y grosor del tejido así
como del tipo de hilo utilizado. Ajustes de tensión
del hilo pueden revelarse necesarios al cambiar
de materiales de costura.
Si la calidad de las puntadas resulta insuficiente,
conviene seleccionar un ajuste de tensión distin-
to en la ilustración representada en las páginas
siguientes o anteriores.
Ajuste de la tensión del hilo
(1) Elija la tensión correcta, refiriéndose a la ilustra-
ción de la página anterior.
(2) Si no puede encontrar la tensión correcta, con-
sulte las ilustraciones de "casos particulares" en
las siguientes páginas.
A Para tensión fuerte
(ajuste entre 4 y 7)
B Para tensión ligera
(ajuste entre 4 y 2)
C Para tensión media
(ajuste entre 5 y 3)
