Page 18 37MHRAQ: Installation Instructions Step 2 - Install Drain Joint NOTE : PRIOR TO INSTALLATION Before bolting the outdoor unit in place, you must install the drain joint at the bottom of the unit. For the units with base pan built-in with multiple holes for proper draining during defrost, the drain joint is no need to be installed.

Page 21 37MHRAQ: Installation Instructions Step 5 - Refrigerant Connection 1. Run the interconnecting piping from the outdoor unit to the indoor unit. 5. Flare Pipe Ends Proper flaring is essential to achieving an airtight seal. 2. Connect the refrigerant piping and drain line outside the indoor unit.
Page 22 37MHRAQ: Installation Instructions 6. Connect the Pipes Connect the copper pipes to the indoor unit first, then connect the CAUTION pipes to the outdoor unit. Connect the low-pressure pipe first, then connect the high pressure pipe. When connecting the flare nuts, apply a thin coat of refrigeration oil to the flared ends of the pipes.

Page 33 37MHRAQ: Installation Instructions TROUBLESHOOTING For ease of service, the systems are equipped with diagnostic code display LEDs on both the indoor and outdoor units. The outdoor diagnostic display has one red LED on the outdoor unit board and is limited to very few errors. The indoor diagnostic display is a combination of flashing LEDs on the display panel or the front of the unit.
