Mixing valves are available at plumbing supply or hardware stores. See Figure 8. Valves for reducing point of use temperature by mixing cold and hot water are also available. Consult Maytag Customer Service (1-800-788-8899). Follow mixing valve manufacturer’s instructions for installation of the valves. Before attaching the gas line be sure that all gas pipe is clean on the inside. To trap any dirt or foreign material in the gas supply line, a drip leg (sometimes called a sediment trap) must be incorporated in the piping. -
