    Mixing valves are available at plumbing supply or hardware stores. See Figure 8. Valves for reducing point of use temperature by mixing cold and hot water are also available.     (150 psi = 1,035 kPa) and a discharge capacity not less than the water heater input rate as shown on the model rating plate. For safe operation of the water heater, the relief valve must not be removed from its designated opening nor plugged.

    For proper venting in certain installations, a larger diameter vent pipe may be necessary. Consult your Maytag Customer Service Center at 1-800-788-8899 or gas supplier to aid you in determining the proper venting for your water heater from the vent tables in the current edition of the National Fuel Gas Code ANSI Z223.1/NFPA 54.
