Combustion Air and Ventilation for Appliances Located in Unconfined Spaces UNCONFINED SPACE is space whose volume is not less than 50 cubic feet per 1,000 Btu per hour (4.8 m aggregate input rating of all appliances installed in that space. Before installation of any vent damper, consult your Maytag Customer Service Center or the local gas supplier for further information. To insure proper venting of this gas-fired water heater, the correct vent pipe diameter must be utilized. -

Hot water is needed for cleansing, cleaning, and sanitizing (bodies, dishes, clothing). -

Turn “OFF” the entire gas supply to the water heater. The high temperature Shut-off is built into the gas control valve. It is non-resettable.
