5. Instructions for using piezoelectrical elements and power amplifiers • High power piezoelectric actuators from piezosystem jena are controlled by voltages up to 1000V. These values can be quite hazardous. Therefore, read the installation instructions carefully and only authorized personal should handle the power amplifier. -

Caution! Shock forces may damage the built-in ceramic element in the actuator. Please avoid such forces, and handle the units with care, otherwise the guarantee will be lost. 6. • Do not place any heavy objects on any cables (e.g. power cords, sensor cables, actuator cables). Damage may cause malfunction or shock or fire! • Do not place the units on a sloping or unstable cart, stand or table as they may fall or not work accurately. -

• Plug the power cord completely in the grounding equipment conductor power sockets so that it cannot be lost inadvertently. • Leave sufficient space around the power plug so that it can be unplugged easily. If objects are placed around the power plug, you will be unable to unplug it in an emergency. -

8. How to operate the HPA1000/10 8.1. Common introduction The amplifier HPA1000/10 is designed to drive piezo actuators in high power applications. The HPA1000/10 works as a switching voltage amplifier with internal energy recovery. The Amplifier includes a current limitation and is short circuit proof. -

RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK! Accomplish a second ground connection between the actuator casing and the amplifier grounding bolt on rear side. Use therefore a green/yellow wire, e.g. with 14 AWG or 2.5 mm² wire cross section. When the actuator is built in a machine, the grounding can also be done by grounding the whole structure and grounding the amplifier by a grounded wall outlet and a faultless power cord. -

8.3.5. Modulation input (MOD) The modulation input accepts control voltages from -10V...+10V, where 0V...10V internal control voltage results in an output voltage from 0V...1000V. The offset value from “OFFSET” potentiometer is internally added to modulation input. 8.3.6. Monitor output (MON) The monitor output shows the output voltage divided by 100. -

use power cord must have a conductor cross section at least 1,5mm². The length should not exceed 3m. It’s recommended to use the original provided power cord. 8.3.11. Grounding bolt PREVENT RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK! The rear side grounding bolt must be used to install a safety grounding connection between amplifier and the high power actuator housing. -
