The outlet end of the tube is released to atmosphere and lets the drain flow through the tube. (When customers prepare the drain tube, keep its length at 16.4feet(5m) or less and the I.D. at 2/8 inch(6.35mm) or larger for correct operation of the auto drain) - Using the pressure of the compressed air, the drain will be discharged periodically.

When the IN side valve starts to open, air bleeds from the drain outlet until the pressure reaches 20psi (0.15MPa).
