Setting the Directory Server to Use the DES Algorithm
The DES algorithm is needed to encrypt the attribute where the digest password is
stored.
To set the Directory Server to use the DES algorithm, perform the following steps:
Launch the Directory Server Console.

Open your Directory Server instance.

Select the Configuration tab.

Click on the + sign next to plug-ins.

Select the DES plug-in.

Choose Add to add a new attribute.

Using Other LDAP Attributes for Authentication

You can configure Enterprise Server to use an LDAP attribute other than
user authentication. The
