  • Page 7 Apply grease to the threads of the rear derailleur hanger bolt. Use a 3 mm hex wrench (2.5 mm hex for X.0 rear derailleurs) to adjust the b-adjust screw so it clears the rear derailleur hanger tab. Use a 5 mm hex wrench to attach the rear derailleur to the frame’s rear derailleur hanger.
  • Page 8 Guide the chain through the front derailleur and over the smallest rear cog. Direct the chain around the front of and under the guide pulley (a) of the rear derailleur. Guide the chain around the rear of the jockey pulley (b). Connect the ends of the chain with a connecting link or chain pin.
  • Page 9 i n d e x s h i F t i n G a d j U s t M e n t Measure and cut all rear shifter and rear derailleur housing. Ensure housing is long enough for full handlebar and suspension movement. Install ferrules on all sections of housing, then install into frame cable stops and rear derailleur cable stop.
  • Page 10 Use a 3 mm hex wrench (2.5 mm hex for X.0 rear derailleurs) to turn the b-adjust screw until the chain gap equals approximately 6 mm (1/4“) from tip of the cog to tip of guide pulley.
