Chapter 8: Sonos Controller for Mac

Uninstalling

If you wish to remove the Sonos Controller for Mac software from your Macintosh
computer, choose Uninstall Sonos from the Sonos menu, and then drag the
application to the trash. The Sonos Multi-Room Music System will no longer be able
to access music from this computer.

Firewall Information

The Sonos Multi-Room Music System is designed to work with existing firewall
software. If your software firewall is not listed, please see http://faq.sonos.com/
firewall for the latest firewall information, or contact Sonos Technical Support at
http://www.sonos.com/support.
Mac OS X's built-in firewall for 10.4
The Sonos Multi-Room Music System is fully compatible with the Mac OS X firewall.
Open the System Preferences window.
1.
Select the Sharing icon.
2.
Select the Firewall tab.
3.
If the message Firewall Off is displayed, your Sonos Multi-Room Music System will
be recognized and you do not have to do anything further. Close the System
Preferences window.
If the message Firewall Off does not display, please continue on to step 4 to add
access to the ports your ZonePlayers will use.
Click the New button.
4.
If the New button is disabled, click the lock at the bottom of the window and enter
an administrator's password.
From the pull-down Port Name menu, select Other.
5.
For TCP Port Number(s), type or paste 445,3400.
6.
For UDP Port Number(s), type or paste 1900,1901,6969.
7.
Type the description as Sonos.
