Automatic image
enhancement
Optimum scan quality is assured
with the DR-2580C's image
enhancement features. The Auto
Shading Adjustment feature, for
example, automatically adjusts
shading during batch scanning to
ensure legibility. The Three-
Dimensional Colour Correction
feature ensures that the colour of
every scan is as close to the
original as possible. And the Punch
Hole Removal feature detects and
removes the black dots left on an
image after scanning a document
with binder holes.
Space-saving design
Perfect for even the tightest office
space, the DR-2580C redefines the
concept of compact. Not only is it
small in actual size - measuring
only 302mm long, 171mm wide and
81mm high - it also requires less
space for operation. The front-
loading design of the DR-2580C
eliminates the unnecessary space
required around the scanner for
feeding and retrieving documents.
Versatile dual paper
path design
However diminutive the DR-2580C
is in stature, it gives up nothing in
performance or versatility.
Incorporating Canon's innovative
dual paper path design, it has the
flexibility to handle all types of
documents.
With the switch of a lever, you can
swap between the u-turn paper
path for the fast scanning of regular
documents and the straight paper
path for the efficient scanning of
irregular documents like thick paper
stocks up to 157gsm and even
things like plastic cards, driver's
licences and passports.
Simple A3 document
scanning
The DR-2580C's innovative folio
mode allows you to scan
documents up to A3 in size by
simply folding them in half before
placing them in the document
feeder. It then automatically scans
both sides of the folded document
and combines the images into one.
Agile document
handling
Scanning thick paper stocks is even
easier with a new floating feeding
mechanism. This innovative
technology senses the thickness of
documents as it scans and adjusts
the height of the mechanism to suit.
If a misfeed occurs, the DR-2580C's
Rapid Recovery System allows you
to reposition the document in the
feed tray and continue scanning
without interruption.
Detachable Flatbed
scanning option
For even greater scanning
versatility, the DR2580C has the
option of a flatbed scanning unit for
the easy scanning of bound
documents, books and unusually
thick or thin documents. You can
switch between sheet-fed and
flatbed scanning with the press of a
button.

operation
With no warm-up time required,
there's no time wasted. Simply
switch the DR-2580C on and it's
ready to scan. Its handy one-touch
buttons allow you to scan and send,
store or print documents in one
step. You can also customise these
buttons to perform common
processes automatically. For
example, you can set a button to
scan directly to PDF, or prepare a
batch of documents for immediate
email distribution.
Easy-to-use software
included
The included Canon CapturePerfect
3.0 software makes it easy to create
multiple page files, and add,
remove or change the order of
pages. Use the searchable PDF
feature to turn documents into full-
text searchable files. And control
who sees, prints and edits
information by creating password
protected PDFs.
Plus, the DR-2580C includes the
world's leading imaging application
– Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Standard as
part of the package.
