The lamps on the control panel indicate the status of your printer as shown below.

On machine initialization these lamps have a 30 second self check time.

Printer Status
Off: No print data has been received.
Flashing: Receiving a print data.
On: Printing data has been received.
Off: No error is detected.
On: One or more errors have been detected (See "7-4. Error
Messages" in the Instruction Manual for the details).
