3. Trip meter reset knob—Resets the two
trip meters to zero, and also change
the meter display.
To change the meter display, quickly
push and release the knob. The meter
display changes in the order from the
odometer to trip meter A to trip meter
B, then back to the odometer each
time you push.
To reset the trip meter A to zero, dis-
play the meter A reading, then push
and hold the knob until the meter is
set to zero. The same process can be
applied for resetting the trip meter B.

Outside temperature display

The displayed temperature ranges from
−40:C (−40:F) up to 50:C (122:F).
The ignition switch must be set at ON.
If an abnormality exists in the connection
of the outside air temperature sensor, "−−"
or "E" will appear on the display. If "−−"
or "E" appears on the display, contact
your Toyota dealer.
There may be a case that "−−" appears
momentarily when the ignition switch is
quickly set to ON. It is normal if it goes
out soon.
Multi−information display—
The following information is displayed
on the multi−information display when
the ignition switch is set at ON.

Cruise information and outside tem-
perature
D
Odometer and two trip meters
D
Warning messages
During ordinary driving, cruise information
is displayed. However, in case the vehicle
has a system malfunction or if there is
some information that the driver should be
informed of, a warning message appears
on the display. See "—Messages" on page
139 for details.
If the electrical power source has been
disconnected from the cruise information
display, the display will automatically be
set to the initial mode.
When
the
instrument
panel
lights
turned on, the brightness of the display
will be reduced.
CAUTION
Do not adjust the display while the
vehicle is moving. Be sure to adjust
the display only when the vehicle is
stopped.
