3. Connect the SCSI cable from the SCSI connector on the CD-
ROM server to the top SCSI connector on the expansion tower.
4. Connect the SCSI terminator to the bottom SCSI connector on
the expansion tower.
Server/Tower
5. Connect the power cable to the expansion tower.
6. Connect the power cable to a power source.
7. Switch power to the expansion tower on.
The expansion tower must be powered up before the CD-
ROM server. If the server boots before the expansion tower
is powered on, the server will not recognize the CD-ROM
drives in the expansion tower.
8. Switch power to the server/tower on or connect the power to
the standalone server.
SCSI IDs are set automatically on HP CD-ROM drives, based on
their position in the tower. The topmost position is ID 0 and the
lowest position is ID 6. All drives are read by the HP CD-ROM
server.
Follow the procedure in the HP CD-ROM server User's Guide to
validate the correct operation of the server and the individual
CD-ROM drives.
