    SuperServer SYS-222BT-HER: Introduction Drive Carrier Indicators Each E3.S NVMe SSD module has two LED indicators: an activity indicator and a status indicator. For RAID configurations using a controller, the meaning of the status indicator is described in the table below. For OS RAID or non-RAID configurations, some LED indications are not supported, such as hot spare.

    SuperServer SYS-222BT-HER: Server Installation 2.1 Preparing for Setup The box in which the server was shipped should include the rackmount hardware needed to install it into the rack. Read this section in its entirety before you begin the installation. Choosing a Setup Location The server should be situated in a clean, dust-free area that is well ventilated.

When not servicing, always keep the front door of the rack and all covers/panels on the servers closed to maintain proper cooling. Rack Mounting Considerations Important: To prevent bodily injury when mounting or servicing this unit in a rack, you must take special precautions to ensure that the system remains stable.

Particular attention should be given to power supply connections other than the direct connections to the branch circuit (i.e. the use of power strips, etc.).

There are a variety of rack units on the market, which may mean that the assembly procedure will differ slightly from the instructions provided. You should also refer to the installation instructions that came with the rack unit you are using.

This step is necessary when removing or installing non-hot-swap components or when replacing a non-redundant power supply.

    SuperServer SYS-222BT-HER: Maintenance and Component Installation 3.2 Accessing the System The CSE-217BE3Q-R3K60P chassis features four removable computable node drawers for access to the internal components. When performing service on components inside the system, remove the system from the rack and place it on a work bench or desk. Do not service with the system extended from the rack.

Fans Fan speed is controlled by a system temperature setting in BMC. If a fan fails, the remaining fans will ramp up to full speed.

    The JTPM1 header on the X14DBT-B motherboard is used to connect a Trusted Platform Module (TPM)/Port 80, which is available from Supermicro (optional). A TPM/Port 80 connector is a security device that supports encryption and authentication in storage drives. It allows the motherboard to deny access if the TPM associated with the storage drive is not installed in the system.
