    Safety If the appliance is installed in a compartment, do not use it for storage purposes and do not obstruct any purpose provided ventilation openings. If a gas leak or fault is suspected turn off the appliance and consult your Local Gas Supplier or Service Engineer.

  • Page 8 Boiler Switch: This controls the operation of the boiler (Standby/On) 'Standby' sets the boiler Off. 'On' allows the boiler to produce hot water on demand. Central Heating Switch: 'Constant' sets the boiler to operate continuously on Central Heating. 'Timed' sets the boiler to operate for set periods as dictated by the optional timer.
  • Page 9 Central Heating Control: The lower control knob enables you to vary the temperature of the water as it flows from the appliance. Full movement of the knob corresponds approximately to a temperature range of 60 °C to 87 °C (140 °F to 188 °F).

    To Operate the Boiler Ensure that the mains electricity to the boiler is on, the 'Mains' light will be illuminated. Central Heating Set the time controls to 'ON' and ensure that any room thermostat is calling for heat. Set the boiler switch to 'ON'. The boiler will light and operate in accordance with the pre-selected temperature set on the lower temperature control knob..
  • Page 11 Summer Use The boiler is designed to operate throughout the year. When central heating is no longer required set the Central Heating switch to the central 'OFF' position. This will allow the appliance to function normally for domestic hot water requirements whilst central heating is not available.

    Boiler Protection Devices Reset Switch The reset switch should not be depressed while the boiler is operating normally. The boiler is fitted with several protection devices and operation of any of these will cause the boiler to 'Lockout' (the Lockout LED will illuminate). To Reset the Boiler Before resetting the boiler refer to the preliminary Fault Finding on page 19.

    Important Gas and electricity are required to operate your boiler. Its performance will not be affected by normal variation in either supply, but a gas or electricity failure will put the boiler out of operation. It will automatically re-start when the supply is restored provided that the time clock and/or thermostats are in the 'On' position.

    Note: Although the system can be emptied by using the drain off taps installed in the pipework around the system, to empty the boiler, it is necessary to remove the drain plug under the pump manifold. This should only be done by a competent person.
