Once loose, you can unscrew the rest of the way by hand. This is showing both connections completely removed from their respective connection points.
  • Page 12 Pull both thermocouple and pilot line out of this support bracket. Straighten out both existing thermocouple and pilot flame gas line. At the back of the range, pull both the thermocouple and pilot gas tube out the back of the top support bracket, and straighten both lines out and away from the back of the range as shown.
  • Page 13 Back inside the oven cavity, using either the Phillips bit on the drill or a screw driver, remove both of the screws that are securing the pilot assembly to the main oven burner tube. Set these 2 screws aside as you will need them to attach the new assembly.
  • Page 14 Remove the supplied components from the package, and gently unroll both the thermocouple and the pilot gas tube. Starting from the assembly and working your way to the connection tip is easiest. MAKE SURE TO NOT BEND THE PILOT GAS TUBE AT ANY SHARP ANGLES TO PREVENT GAS LEAKS ONCE ASSEMBLED.
  • Page 15 Now that you have the assembly straightened out, you will need to connect the red ignition wire to the assembly as shown below. Attach ignition lead here Lead now attached Insert the entire assembly into the oven cavity, feed the thermocouple, pilot gas tube and ignition lead through the hole at the back of the range.

  • Page 23 Measure 10mm up from the end of the pilot gas line. Put a mark with a marker. This is where you will want your compression fitting to sit when complete. Insert the pilot gas tube into the back of the gas valve, keeping a firm grip on the pilot tube so you do not push it too far into the valve.
  • Page 24 Full tighten both connections Fully tighten both connections with the 8mm wrench. A ¾ turn to a 1 full turn should be enough. Do not try to overtighten. Using some soap and water, bubble test the pilot gas tube at the connection point (far right connection in picture above) to check for leaks.
  • Page 25 At this point you are ready to connect the propane supply line back to the regulator at the back of the appliance (if disconnected) and test the functionality of the new pilot assembly. The image below shows how robust your flame should be. For initial startup, allow at least 1 minute for the gas to get all the way from the tank, through the valve, and down to the pilot.
