HOIST LINE TENSION LIMITER IMPACT GUARD INSTALLATION
This instruction explains installation of Impact Guard Retrofi t Kit 3601501
on the DBI SALA Tension Limiter model 3601490 (Figure 1).
PURPOSE: The Impact Guard eliminates the potential for the Tension Limiter to be damaged by impact
with fi xed objects or rigid structures during use. Such impact under load can cause severe damage to the
face plate and bolts of the unit.

Remove the top two bolts (A) from the
drum side of the Tension Limiter as shown
in Figure 2.

If there is a carabiner or hook attached
to the anchor connection (B) it must be
removed before installing the Impact
Guard.
Place Impact Guard (C) over the top of
anchor connection on Tension Limiter as
shown in Figure 3.

Rotate Impact Guard clockwise as shown in
Figure 4.

Install the two bolts (D) provided in the
Impact Guard Installation Kit as shown in
Figure 5. Torque the two bolts to 65 in-lb.

Inspect torque of all 12 bolts on the front and
back side of the Tension Limiter to 65 in-lbs.
